The Sun Yat-sen Education and Charity Foundation (the Foundation) held a symposium on “New China at 70:  Reflections on Modern Economic and New Economic Structure” on 6 November 2019.  Officiating guests included Dr. Tan Siu Lin, SBS, Dr. Henry Tan, BBS, JP, and Mr. Sunny Tan, Chairman, President and Vice-President respectively of the Foundation. Professor Justin Yi Fu Lin, Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics of Peking University, was invited to be the guest speaker. The Symposium was well attended by around 200 renowned guests and professionals from political, business and financial sectors. Professor Clara Ho and Professor Lee Kam Keung, Head and Professor respectively of the Department of History, attended the Symposium on behalf of the University.
