MOU Signing Ceremony for Elite Athletes Study Programme
Witnessed by Dr. Lam Tai Fai, SBS, JP, Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation and Chairman of Hong Kong Sports Institute; The Hon Lau Kong Wah, JP, Secretary for Home Affairs; Mr. Yeung Tak Keung, Commissioner for Sports; and Professor Chung Pak Kwong, Head of the Department of Physical Education, Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Trisha Leahy, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Sports Institute, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the university-wide support provided for elite athletes to enable them to strike the right balance between their university studies and their sporting commitments. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of HKBU Foundation, also attended the Ceremony on behalf of the University.
The MOU grants the athletes studying at HKBU an extension of their graduation timeline to accommodate their training and competition schedules. HKBU also provides them with individual mentoring support, academic advice and career planning.
