The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Cheng Sung Ko Charles, former Council and Court member and donor of HKBU, on 7 June 2017. He was 74 years old.

Dr. Cheng was a renowned specialist in Surgery and an active member of public health bodies. He had held the Presidency of Board of Directors of Hong Kong Baptist Hospital, Association of Private Medical Specialists and Hong Kong Oratorio Society. He was also a Deacon of Tsim Sha Tsui Baptist Church.

He was a staunch supporter of HKBU. He had contributed greatly to the University in his capacities as Council member, Court member and Honorary Degrees Committee member.

The Foundation conveys its heartfelt condolences to his family. Dr. Cheng will always be remembered for his distinguished contributions to the University.
