In celebration of the 88th birthday of Dr. Tan Siu Lin, SBS, his eldest son Dr. Henry Tan, BBS, JP, Vice-Chairman of Tan Siu Lin Foundation Limited and Honorary Court Member of HKBU and other family members hosted a birthday dinner for Dr. Tan, Chairman of the Foundation, Founder and Chairman of Luen Thai International Group Limited, and Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, on 30 September 2017.

The birthday banquet was well attended by around 350 distinguished guests.  Representatives of the University were also present to extend their warmest congratulations to Dr. Tan. They included Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Clara Ho, Head of the Department of History; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Chow Kai Wing and Professor Lee Kam Keung of the Department of History.
