HKBU students join 20th anniversary celebration of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships

21 April 2018

Marking the 20th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships, over 200 representatives from the Club’s tertiary education and community partners as well as JC Scholars (recipients of the Scholarships) joined the 2018 Community Day Race Meeting on 21 April 2018 at Sha Tin Racecourse to celebrate this memorable milestone.

Established in 1998, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships have benefitted 64 HKBU students with an accumulated donation of around HK$19.2 million to the University for the past two decades.  Over the years, about HK$400 million has been contributed by the Club’s Charities Trust to support more than 500 JC Scholars in studying degree programmes in local tertiary institutions. Jockey Club Scholars are nominated by their institutions, and awarded the Scholarship for their excellent academic performances as well as their commitment to society.

Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, together with seven JC Scholars of HKBU including Evelyn Lee, Ada Lee, Natalie Fong, Vincy Tam, Jacky Mak, Denise Fan and Julius Lui joined the celebration. JC Scholars expressed that the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships did not only recognise their efforts, but also encouraged them to do well and do good in society.
