The Hong Kong Chinese Importers’ & Exporters’ Association hosted its 34th Inauguration Ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 28 January 2019. Officiating guests included The Hon. Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet Ngor, GBM, GBS, Chief Executive of the HKSAR; Professor Tan Tieniu, Deputy Director of the Central Government’s Liaison Office in the HKSAR; Mr. Zhao Jiankai, Deputy Commissioner, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the HKSAR. A number of Foundation members were also invited to join the ceremony. They included Dr. Chiu Chun Bong, MBE, JP, and Mrs. Luna Chiu; as well as Dr. Leung Lun, BBS, MH; and Mr. Ivan Wong. The event was well attended by around 2,000 dignitaries and honourable guests. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, attended the event on behalf of the University.
